2025 Supreme Court Fellows Program Annual Lecture to Feature U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson

The Law Library of Congress and the Supreme Court Fellows Program will present a conversation with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson  for the 2025 Supreme Court Fellows Program Annual Lecture on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 3 p.m. EST.

Jackson, born in Washington, D.C., in 1970,  has been a justice on the Supreme Court since 2022. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard-Radcliffe College in 1992 and cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1996. Jackson clerked for Justice Stephen Breyer and other federal judges before holding roles as an assistant federal public defender and Vice Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission. Appointed by President Barack Obama, she served on the U.S. District Court for D.C. (2013–2021) and, under President Joe Biden, joined the D.C. Circuit in 2021. Biden nominated her as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court in 2022, taking her seat on June 30.
