Library of Congress Wins Silver Anvil Award from Public Relations Society of America

The Library of Congress communications team has won one of the highest awards in its field – the Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvil Award – for organizational excellence in its communications and outreach on behalf of the national library. The award was announced May 9 in New York City. 

The Anvil Awards honor the best strategic public relations campaigns and organizational excellence that set the highest standards of the industry. The Library’s Office of Communications won for Excellence, Best In-House Team in Government. 

Case studies from the award nomination focused on the Library’s communications campaigns for the National Recording Registry, collaborations with artists and celebrities including Lizzo, and the office’s success in raising awareness of the nation’s library and its flagship programs to new audiences nationally. The title of the entry was “Success Off the Shelf: The Library of Congress Office of Communications.”
